The Latest on Diagnosis and Treatment
Join us for the annual Ovarian Cancer Medical Update on Wednesday, June 29, 7:00pm-8:15pm. The update will focus on ovarian cancer information including the latest developments in diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Christopher Darus is the featured speaker.
Dr. Christopher Darus joined Providence Cancer Institute in October 2020 as the medical director of the new gynecologic cancer program. He previously was Director of Gynecologic Cancer Research at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
Dr. Darus graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine in 2000 and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 2004. Following his residency, he completed a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Virginia Health System in 2007. This rigorous training prepared Dr. Darus to offer advanced surgical and medical treatment techniques to his patients.
Dr. Darus has an acute understanding of the impact of a gynecologic cancer diagnosis and treatment on his patients and their families. He emphasizes the importance of treating the whole patient while utilizing the skills and strengths of the multi-disciplinary team of providers in the Providence Gynecologic Oncology Program. Clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, clinical trials, and cancer genomics.
Dr Darus is an avid cook and enjoys scuba diving and underwater photography. He lives in Portland with his wife and children.
