Mission:  promote ovarian cancer awareness and education; support those diagnosed and survivors; and advocate for public policy and funding.

Survivors Teaching Students®

Survivors Teaching Students® (STS) speaking engagements aim to increase awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer through survivors sharing their personal experiences with nursing, third-year medical, and pharmacy students.

Survivors Teaching Students® (STS) is an international program that is run through the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).

Here in Oregon and SW Washington, ovarian cancer survivors speak to all 3rd year medical students at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) during their ob/gyn rotation. Ovarian cancer survivors also present their stories of diagnosis and treatment to nursing, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, and pharmacy students and to students at the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland.

The purpose of these speaking engagements is to increase awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and to share personal experiences with the students.

Training is provided to all STS volunteers. Volunteer here.
