super hero stories

MARY

Diagnosed at 31; Super Hero at 34

“As an ovarian cancer survivor, I can tell you that cancer sucks. Chemo sucks.

But life is awesome. I’ve chosen not to let cancer define me or hold me back. I’m still here to share my story.

I was very fortunate. I actually experienced major pain caused by a burst cyst. Had that not happened, my doctors probably wouldn’t have diagnosed me so quickly.

So, don’t ignore the weird feelings in your body. You know your body. Listen to it. The most important thing you can do for yourself and your family and friends is to take care of yourself. You aren’t any good to the people you love if you aren’t kind to yourself.”
