The end of cancer treatment and the beginning of survivorship often comes with mixed feelings. It can be a time of hope as treatment has ended but also a time of great challenge and uncertainty. Feeling anxious and fearful about cancer coming back is a common concern and one of the greatest challenges for cancer survivors.
Managing these fears can be difficult. When the fears and worries are persistent, they can interfere with daily living and make it difficult to move on after treatment ends. Fortunately, there are plenty of helpful ways to cope with this fear.
Marney Hoffman, PhD, LPC, LMHC will share coping strategies to help manage the fear of cancer recurrence while adjusting to life after treatment.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Marney Hoffman is a behavioral health counselor licensed in both Oregon and Washington. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University and completed her doctoral internship at The Pacific Rehabilitation Centers where she worked in the area of chronic pain and oncology. After receiving her doctorate, she continued to work with oncology patients at both the Jane Russell Cancer Care Center in Gig Harbor and in CHI Franciscan Hospital in Tacoma. Dr. Hoffman currently has a private practice in NW Portland where she continues to specialize in psycho oncology. She is passionate about helping her clients and their families navigate the cancer journey and enhance the quality of life from the time of diagnosis, through treatment, survivorship, and palliative care. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their 13 year-old son, and the family's golden retriever, Kiki.
