Our annual Survivor and Volunteer Luncheon is Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 11:30am-2:00pm. The luncheon celebrates the lives of ovarian cancer survivors and those who volunteer for our organization.
Note: we define "Survivor" as any woman who has ever received an ovarian cancer diagnosis, whether she is N.E.D. (yeah!), in current treatment for a first-time diagnosis, or facing a recurrence.
Ovarian cancer survivors and volunteers are invited to attend free of charge. Guests are welcome to attend, and we ask that they pay a small fee for their lunch ($20 per person).
This year's guest speaker is Marilyne Labrie, Ph.D. Dr. Labrie is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Gordon Mills at the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. Her current research interests include the use of proteomics-based technologies to study the adaptive response of ovarian cancer cells to targeted therapy. Her work will help design new treatment strategies for ovarian cancer patients with high risk of recurrence.
Doors open at 11:30am for check-in. Lunch will be served just after noon.
